Novel Writing and other writing goals

Hopefully this will be the last long break from my blog!  I really do enjoy keeping up with it, but things have gotten busy.  I have a lot of news to say, but I’ll just keep this post focused on one thing: writing.

I put a lot of effort into NaNoWriMo this year. For those that don’t know, November is National Novel Writing Month and the goal is to write 50,000 words in one month. It basically involved locking myself in my room for at least two hours a day to try to write over 1,500 words. I was successful in that I completed my word count goal, but I have a ways to go to make it a full story.  (Of course, the process only begins there with revising and editing…but hey, eye on the prize.)

Unlike the last time I attempted NaNoWrimo, I am not gong to let my story disappear after November. This time, I actually want to finish my story and possibly try to publish it. If things go well, then I might consider evolving it into a series.  Anyway, I’m still working on my novel (almost) everyday–making up any word count goals if I happen to miss a day. So far, it’s still going pretty well. If anyone is interested in my writing journey, I might try to make some type of regular ‘series’ to add to my blog on it. (Let me know…*nudge nudge*)

For now, my plan is to continue working on my novel and to keep my blog more up to date. I have so many things to write about–places I’ve been and reflections I have had–and I have been wanting to share them here. Stay tuned because I plan on posting more frequently and I’m depending on you readers to hold me to it!
