Teacher Dinner

School has been busier and leaving me craving for a break like nothing else. In fact, the other Thursday night, I didn’t get home until 9:30pm!! So I’ll explain a little bit more…

I had really lucked out in the past with teach dinners. (I wrote about it here). The other Thursday night I Was definitely not so lucky. First of all, it was not even just dinner. We ate dinner at a duck restaurant. I like duck, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I, luckily, managed to not have to consume any alcoholic drinks. 🙂  Sitting next to my pregnant co-teacher helped that. ^^

My other co-teacher and I talked a lot and we both are not fans of the teacher dinners. (Say what!?  Yeah, come to find out…not all Koreans are fans of them either.) Then we were told we had to go to a Noraebang (private karaoke room)…but we had to sit around and wait in the restaurant another 30 minutes. At the noraebang, the principal seemed to enjoy it the most and everyone basically had to sing at least one song and stand up the entire 1.5~2 hours we were there.

missing a few teachers by the end of the night but over half of them were still there 😦

There was one guy, who was retiring , who made all the girls (and a few of the guys) sit and have a drink with him…including me. I sipped a little bit and then…it was my turn to sing! I chose a song that all the Koreans knew: LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem. The other English teacher coworker joined in on the chorus (my voice is fairly low so I sang the original pitch and she sang an octave above…it was…interesting. lol)

I’m not looking forward to the next one…word has it they do it EVERY MONTH….
